Cable and fiber optic lines offer millions of people the opportunity to connect with each other through the internet. For some people and businesses, however, having their work exposed across the internet is a potential risk. To ensure their connection is secure, many ISPs (Internet Service Providers) offer private lines.
A private line is essentially cutting out the internet as a middleman in a connection. Rather than the fiber line connecting to the internet, a consumer is provided with a direct line to an ISP’s network. Not only is this much more secure, but it also allows for a far more stable download and upload speed. Whereas typical internet connections can fluctuate depending on how many people use it, a private line needs to only focus on the single person or business it’s providing for.
