Wi-Fi routers are common in many households, providing an excellent way to distribute a Wi-Fi signal throughout a home. However, they aren’t perfect. Often, these routers have a limited range, meaning some areas of a home may not have a strong signal, or even any at all. There does exist a solution for this problem: Mesh Routers.

Mesh Routers are very similar to traditional routers. They hook up to a modem, and then broadcast a signal around a home or other location. However, the difference between the two is that the router is not the only device to broadcast a signal. Instead, multiple “connection points” can be spread around a location to further increase the range of the signal.

This means that for a large house or office building, multiple routers aren’t needed. Instead, the connection points take that role. This means resetting or readjusting a router is far less necessary than it traditionally is. This can also make your devices more secure, as constantly having a Wi-Fi signal means a device is less likely to miss a crucial firmware update.
