It’s no secret that providing fast internet services to customers is the key to a successful Internet Provider. Even so, it takes an exceptional service to be ranked as the fastest provider in the Northeastern United States. Empire Access is just that company. As tested by the folks over at PCMag, Empire Access, out of all major providers in the Northeast, stood at the top with an Index speed of 271.6. In comparison, 2nd place only came in at 201.4.
Just how is this index calculated? It comes down to two main factors: Download Speed and Upload Speed. PCMag calculated both for each provider, then added them together with a score of 80% Download Speed and 20% Upload Speed. When it came to Download Speed, it was no contest, with Empire averaging 326 Mbps, nearly 80 Mbps ahead of the closest competitor. Not only that, but Empire holds the 2nd highest Upload Speed with 54.1 Mbps.
